Selkirk College Music Faculty Concert

The Selkirk College Contemporary Music & Technology Program proudly presents its annual Faculty Concert, featuring one of Canada’s finest bass players — André Lachance!

A celebrated multi-instrumentalist and educator, André Lachance has been a faculty member at Capilano University’s Jazz Studies program for 29 years, where he teaches electric and acoustic bass as well as guitar. This year, André joins Selkirk College virtually, bringing his expertise and inspiration directly to our bass students.

André’s musical versatility spans jazz, funk, R&B, pop, and creative improvised music. He leads his own ensemble, Quatuor André Lachance, and was named Jazz Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. he is a long-time member of acclaimed groups including Soulstream, the Brad Turner Quartet, the Chris Gestrin Trio, and the Peggy Lee Band. He has toured internationally, recorded for leading labels, and performed with top artists across the globe.
